“The accommodation was excellent and we had a good time in Felixstowe.”

We were near the front and there were good restaurants nearby, not to mention the Felsto Arms.

The property

Offering a delightful base on the southern coast of Suffolk, this 2 storey annexe property boasts contemporary interior and is within walking distance of amenities in the port town of Felixstowe. Saxon Lodge Cottage rests at the back of the owner's property with private access via a side gate, so you and your friends or family will have your own space to retreat to after days exploring this lovely seaside location. Socialise at your leisure in the kitchen/diner, where splashes of blue echo a seaside theme, complementing the sleek black kitchen units which are home to an excellent gas range cooker and hob, so you can get the evening meal on the go while a bottle of wine is opened around the table. Step atop the stylish distressed wood flooring and retire to the sitting area after your feast; watch a film on the Smart TV which is set against pretty feature wallpaper, with the last of the evening light coming through the dual-aspect windows. Up on the first floor, the spacious bathroom with a double basin continues the sea blue theme, and holds a fantastic shower enclosure for you to freshen up in. Rest your head in one of the two bedrooms, with a king-size and a twin room, both being zip/link beds so you can choose the layout that best suits the group. The master bedroom has a special feature with the decked balcony offering a charming spot to relax in, whether it's in the evening watching the sky change colour, or with a hot cup of tea in the morning. Explore your surroundings on foot and head down to Felixstowe Beach to enjoy four-miles of sand and shingle beach, take a paddle in the waters or grab some fish and chips or an ice cream from one of the several beachfront businesses. Walk down to Landguard Fort, an 18th century military structure where the first Royal Marines' land battle took place, those who love history can marvel at this large building. Browse the many shops centered in Felixstowe with some high-street favourites as well as independent local shops too, or head into the busy town of Ipswich for a host of attractions, including Ipswich Town Football Club or Christchurch Mansion and Christchurch Park, a huge Tudor mansion with a major art collection. Saxon Lodge Cottage is a perfect choice for a seaside break.
